ADOPTION PENDING- Monty Python is a 9 year old beagle/bassett mix who weighs about 45 lbs (a little on the chubby side); he is micro-chipped and up to date on his shots. Monty is good cats and children and prefers the company of another dog around his own size. Monty was surrendered by a breeder who didn't think that he looked 'beagle' enough and was rescued at 6 months old. Because of his experience in the shelter he does have some separation anxiety when left alone (without another canine pal) and has a very distinct hound dog bay when he's lonely. Monty has lived in a home with another very large dog that has become increasingly aggressive toward him and he has some battle scars to show. Monty loves stuffed animals and will show off by tossing them in the air and catching them for you. Monty spends most of his time in the house close to his people but loves to get outside and play (his favorite game is chase and he is very quick and agile); he loves the snow in the winter and the cool grass in the summer. Monty is a very curious, gentle and loving boy. He wants nothing more than to crawl into your lap and have his belly rubbed; his situation is no longer safe for him and while his people are heartbroken that it has come to this, Monty needs your help and a new home.
